Thanksgiving and the 90th Macy’s Parade

Our last full day before heading home. It’s Thanksgiving; what an appropriate ending. We got up early for a decent spot down by Radio City, and saw this lot.

For lunch we ate in the super cool Chelsea Market at Friedman’s Lunch. A Thanksgiving lunch of turkey hash, Nova Benny (eggs, smoked salmon, potato hash and hollandaise), and of course, beer!

After struggling to find somewhere in Park Slope that was 1: open on Thanksgiving, and 2: served Frito Pie, we gave up and instead stocked up on supplies from our local deli market (the brilliant Jo, Brian and Joseph’s), to make/heat up our own homely Thanksgiving meal in the apartment. A much better and more appropriate choice than Frito Pie!

A plate of slop, but the meatloaf, mac & cheese, grits, beans and fried sprouts were so good!
